Estimates, Not Guarantees

All quotes generated by YardQuote are estimates based on publicly available data. They are not binding contracts, guarantees of final pricing, or formal offers of service. Actual lawn care pricing may differ from the estimated quote.

Data Sources and Accuracy

When YardQuote produces an automatic measurement in its current coverage area, it uses data from the following sources:

  • Polk County GIS: Public Polk County, Iowa parcel boundaries and recorded parcel area. Records may not reflect recent subdivisions, boundary adjustments, or surveying updates.
  • FEMA/ORNL USA Structures: Mapped building-footprint polygons from FEMA/ORNL USA Structures, licensed under CC BY 4.0. The dataset may omit, misplace, combine, or retain outdated structures.
  • Google Maps APIs: Address geocoding and an optional static map preview. Google data is not used to measure structures.

Automatic property measurement currently covers supported Polk County, Iowa addresses. Addresses outside automatic coverage can still be captured for a contractor to quote by hand. Missing, shared, boundary-crossing, malformed, or implausible structure geometry also requires manual review instead of an automatic price. We do not guarantee that source data is complete, accurate, or current.

Selected Service Scope

Customers may request the whole yard, front only, or back only. Front-only and back-only quotes use 50% of the estimated full mowable area. This is a pricing approximation, not a mapped division of the property. The contractor's configured minimums still apply, and the contractor confirms the final boundaries and price.

Professional Inspection Recommended

YardQuote estimates do not account for factors that affect actual lawn care pricing, including but not limited to:

  • Yard terrain (slopes, hills, uneven ground)
  • Obstacles (trees, gardens, fences, sheds, play equipment)
  • Grass condition (overgrowth, weed density, turf type)
  • Accessibility (gated yards, narrow access, parking limitations)
  • Property-specific features (irrigation systems, decorative landscaping)
  • Seasonal conditions (leaf coverage, snow damage, drought stress)

We strongly recommend a professional on-site inspection before committing to recurring lawn care service.

Third-Party Data

Automatic measurements rely on Google Maps APIs, the parcel provider configured for the covered county, and FEMA/ORNL USA Structures services that are outside our control. The current parcel provider is Polk County GIS. We are not responsible for errors, omissions, or changes in data provided by these sources. Automatic-measurement availability depends on the uptime and accuracy of these systems.

StanHattie LLC, its officers, employees, and agents shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or expenses resulting from reliance on quotes, data, or estimates provided by the Service. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
